“Where’s the Kit Kat? Where’s the Kit Kat?!”
Ted continues his Halloween tradition of trying to find his dream girl, the Slutty Pumpkin, while Robin introduces Marshall and Lily to her new boyfriend.
Ted & Barney- Future Ted tells the story of how four years previously at a Halloween party on the roof, he met a girl we will call the Slutty Pumpkin, aka his dream girl, who’s number he got but lost. So much like Linus and his Great Pumpkin, Ted goes in search of the Slutty Pumpkin every year. This year, Barney
tries to get Ted to come with him to the Victoria Secret party he got them into, but Ted refuses and heads to the roof to wait for the Slutty Pumpkin.

to get Ted off the roof, but Ted refuses to stop hoping that the Slutty Pumpkin will come.
Lily, Marshall, & Robin- Future Ted tells his kids that while Robin is really into Halloween in the present day, she wasn’t always. On the other hand, Marshall and Lily are very into Halloween, (see Exhibit A)
dressing up as Capt. Jack Sparrow and a parrot, respectively.
Robin brings Mike, the guy she’s been dating a few weeks to meet Marshall and Lily. The four go out to dinner where it becomes apparent that Robin is not a typical girlfriend. Robin reminds Lily that she’s not into all that couple-stuff, and Lily advises Robin that if she doesn’t meet Mike halfway she’s going to lose him. Robin tries to share dessert with him but can’t resist trying to eat the whole thing herself. Mike decides to leave, and point out that Robin is independent and likes to do things herself. And so Mike breaks up with her, in front of Marshall and Lily. Marshall and Lily win their costume party and Robin heads up to the roof. She goes to Ted and asks him why it is she can’t be a girlfriend. Ted tells her that the guy who will make her want to be a girlfriend is out there, she just has to have faith. Just as his Slutty Pumpkin is out there.
The Mother- “Wouldn’t it be the coolest story ever if the Slutty Pumpkin turned out to be my future wife?” I wonder…
